Each part of the plant is harvested differently, depending on the purpose of its use. The species was first classified by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carl_Linnaeus\">Carl Linnaeus<\/a>\u00a0in 1753.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Cannabis indica<\/em><\/strong>, formally known as<strong><em>Cannabis sativa<\/em>\u00a0forma\u00a0<em>indica<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0is an annual plant in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cannabaceae\">Cannabaceae<\/a>\u00a0 A putative species of the genus\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cannabis\">Cannabis<\/a><\/em>. \u00a0In 1785,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jean-Baptiste_Lamarck\">Jean-Baptiste Lamarck<\/a>\u00a0published a description of a second species of\u00a0<em>Cannabis<\/em>, which he named\u00a0<em>Cannabis indica<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Cannabis ruderalis<\/em><\/strong>is a species of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cannabis\">Cannabis<\/a><\/em>\u00a0originating in central\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Russia\">Russia<\/a>.
